The University of Wolverhampton and the West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence (WMCCE) hosted a delegation from the Malaysian Construction Industry development Board recently.

Members of CIDB Malaysia visited WMCCE to witness first hand some of the success stories in implementing the Rethinking Construction strategy mooted by Sir John Egan. Demonstration projects, CAPARO innovation centre and CIAPS were discussed as successful examples of the implementation strategy of Rethinking Construction. The delegates were interested in studying theses examples on a step-by-step approach in order to chart a framework suitable to the Malaysian construction perspectives.

The delegates met with members of the School of Engineering and Built Environment lead by Professor Paul Olomolaiye and members of WMCCE lead by the executive Director Michael Thompson as well as Rufus Logan Network Director of Modern Built Environment, BRE and Mark Sharp from CIRIA.The meeting was followed by a tour of the University facilities and presentations at Wolverhampton Science Park.
